I'm older than most on Pockets and have lived through some interesting times. This current situation is really concerning me. I'm not a turtle pulling into my shell, BUT, there is a perfect storm forming and it is huge. NO net worth for majority of Americans if you remove any home equity. That group is growing every month.
The market drop is eating up everyones' well being. The retirement funds, 401K's etc are down nearly a third in value. National debt is $450K for every man woman and child in USA.
The market is down to where it was 6 years ago and approacing 9-11 #'s. for the low in nearly 8 years.
This doesn't consider the higher unemployment rates that will happen. Companies will fail, some colleges will close, students will be withdrawing for lack of loans and help from parents. The dominoes are lined up and waiting to fall.
I don't have answers but urge all to show caution. Some deals that appear great, may not be if #'s and lending process keep deteriorating. I continue to buy, but I don't expect to be able to re-sell at present time. Caution and preparation is important like never before, imo.
