Drought in California

This is my first post to BP. As a background, my family has lived in California for about 60 years. I grew up in Southern California and have owned several SFR and a commercial building. These properties have generated great appreciation over the years.

My question for discussion is "How do you think an extended drought in California will affect real estate?" There is historical record of droughts lasting 10's of years and up to 100's of years.
