Starbucks a predictor of home apprciation?
Here's an interesting article from The Atlantic suggesting that the presence of a Starbucks in a neighborhood is a good predictor of future home appreciation.
Personally, I think it's a "chicken and egg" situation in that Starbucks tends to open in areas that are already upscale/trendy or areas that are clearly on their way to being so.
The part I did find surprising was the correlation between a Dunkin' Donuts store and home appreciation in the neighborhood. I did not see that coming.
Anyway, I thought it was an interesting read and wanted to pass it along.
