5000 off for sight unseen?

Never seen this before. I want to buy this vacant house next to my other rental house. The pictures online make it look pretty dirty. The broker we contacted said the owner will take 5000 off the purchase price if we buy it without taking a tour first.

Yes, @Eric Lake, this is a HUGE red flag, but that doesn't mean it's not a great opportunity!

First off, you said "The broker we contacted said..." I'd LOVE to be in the room when that broker has to admit to their licensing board that they were involved in a transaction where the buyer was effectively bribed not to perform an inspection prior to placing a property under contract.

So much for professionalism and business ethics...

Nevertheless, I LIVE for situations like this. The seller KNOWS there's a BIG problem. The broker does TOO. The fact that they are making this ludicrous and unethical pitch to you shows just how badly they want this property sold.

Even better, their shady sales approach is going to SCARE OFF nearly all your competition (see the comments above)!

Time to dig in and have a blunt conversation with both broker and seller to figure out exactly what's going on here: You have absolutely NOTHING to lose!

Don't get distracted by their tactics; solve the seller's problem!

This is exactly how KILLER deals are born...
