How I learned to stop worrying and embrace the Pandemic!

It is painfully obvious to everyone alive that this virus has totally disrupted the known world. Everything has changed. Most people are suffering in some (or many) ways. Most of the USA and maybe the rest of the world will never be the same as P-P-L (Pre-Pandic Life).

So how did this lockdown actually benefit me and our real estate business?

We found the antidote: intelligent adaptation to existing technology.

Business has become simpler and easier in this new virtual business model than it was before with an office filled with employees, clients, tenants, and vendors.

E-signing leases and contracts works just fine, thank you. Emailing work orders to vendors and contractors lowers the “mistake rate” and provides a paper trail for follow-up. Incoming rents are paid online (or through a mail slot), owners get their rents with EFT’s, and virtual video tours have actually INCREASED our efficiency and rental application rate!

Our office staff is working from home, and we are more in touch and on the same page than we were P-P-L! Daily morning meetings of 15 minute Zoom or Skype video conferencing have made that possible and has proven to be more productive than trying to get everyone at the same conference table in person.

We are able to close deals in the Bank’s parking lot (cars are minimum of 6-feet apart, lol).

Who would have thought that a property management and real estate sales office could be run more efficiently and more profitably by going virtual? Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Good health and good luck to all!
