I bought this as a house hack. I am a veteran and did not need a down payment. The seller covered closing. My only cost was paint and cleaning. I put a roommate in a spare bedroom who covers half my mortgage. I am moving in the spring and he has said he will have a friend move in to cover the full mortgage and give me a couple hundred dollars to put in savings. He has also agreed to buy my furniture, lawn mower & weed wacker. This will give me back more than my $1,000 I put in the property.
