Investment Info:

Single-family residence buy & hold investment in Portland.

Lovable farm home in the city. First property with my wife, we updated on a budget.

After moving back from NYC in 2015 my wife and I had a 14 month real estate search before we really understood the market. We were beat out on 13 offers in Portland, OR and finally offered 13% over asking on a tiny turn of the century farm house, and we got it!! We spent about 20k updating the kitchen and bath, refinishing the fir floors, and rebuilding the front retaining wall of the dutch basement (had a contractor do this). Lived in it for a couple years, and now we rent it out to a delightful family. It was worth all the stress to find the perfect property.
