Investment Info:

Single-family residence other investment.

Purchase price: $68,000
Cash invested: $1,000
Sale price: $120,000

My brother and I bought 8 acres at an auction. We split the land in half and sold both tracts. It was a simple flip and a good way to build confidence in investing into real estate.

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

Timing. My brother was at an auction while we were vacationing at the beach. He called me to ask if we would be interested in going 50/50 on 8 acres for $68,000. We knew the area was growing and popular so we agreed.

How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

Auction.

How did you finance this deal?

My brother financed it through his bank.

How did you add value to the deal?

Right place at the right time.

What was the outcome?

We made money and did very little. Great investment and learning experience.
