How should I split the deal?

Timothy Eichholz
Posted

Hypothetical scenario but hoping to make it real. How should I split the percentage of profits in a scenario like this one? Me and a friend looking to invest in a duplex. I am willing to live in one side of the duplex, handle all operations, and put down 50% of the money going toward the deal. He is only investing money %50 of whatever the deal would be. We would split the costs of any operating expenses. What percentage of the overall investment should I be getting in a scenario like this? Should I get %75  of the cash flow and %75 of the equity in the property?
