how do you hold permits on site?

ok, so I'm closing in on a long SF residential rehab and calling in for final inspections. whole entire permit package goes missing - I guess it just walked away. interested in more professional, organized ways to store a permit on site of a rehab than just tossing in the windows. any ideas? thanks!
