What does "Buy and Hold" really mean?
I like to consider myself a buy and hold investor. When I started out over 17 years ago, I always believed that having a long-term perspective would keep me in the game and help create long-term wealth. Lots of other "buy and hold" investors seem to come and go, liquidate their positions, trade up to larger properties, get burned out, etc.
And while this post is not to debate the whether the buy and hold is the best strategy for creating long-term wealth, I would love to know....
What property in your portfolio wins the "Longest Buy and Hold Award"? Not the house you live in or some inherited property, a property you bought and rented out. So, how about (1) year purchased, (2) purchase price, (3) current market value, and (4) city & state it's located in? I'll go first:
2004 - $92,500 - $275,000 - St. Petersburg, FL
