Anyone ever seen this before?
My daughter is a sophomore in college and will not be living in the dorm next year. She will be living in a shared apartment. The interesting part is that she will be in a quad and will have her own bedroom and bathroom while sharing a kitchen and living room. Her lease will be for her own room and not tied to the other roommates. They get $580 plus utilities per room or $2,320 for the quad. The going rate for a si,air unit if you rented the entire unit is $1500-$1700. Not a bad premium for splitting out the rooms. I would expect the turn over to be high, but their vacancy rate to be low. Fining single students to rent a single room is not difficult in a college town.
Has anyone ever done something like this? The buildings were constructed with this model in mind. However, I think larger SFH houses could be configured this way. This could be a great market for the higher cost cities or to create low income housing for single people.
