House hacking NJ - First time buyer

Hello BP,

I am new to the investment world ( I am 23) and I am really focused on buying a multifamily property (triplex+) in NJ.

I am looking to house hack for about a year or two: after that time the property will be fully rented out. My main bullet points are that it needs to be in an up and coming neighborhood, good schools, family friendly, and in the Jersey City area if possible.

I have seen properties in Bayonne that look promising within the price range of $300,000 to $400,000. The plan is to buy the property within the next year.

If anyone can offer some advise I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!
