General Contractor - Twin Cities, Minnesota

Hello there BP community! I’m currently in the process of purchasing a Category 2 Vacant Property in Saint Paul, MN. I’ve already received the completed Code Compliance Report from the city listing out the repairs needed under each of four categories: Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and Heating.

The next step in the process requires the submission of an estimate from a state-licensed, general building contractor to complete the code compliance repairs. The estimate must be on the contractor’s letterhead and include the contractor’s license number.

I’m hoping to find a state-licensed general contractor that either has experience working with Code Compliance Reports from the city of Saint Paul or can walk a property and write a bid that addresses each line item in the Code Compliance Report.

Please feel free to either reply to this thread or send me a private message with any questions or clarification needed.

Thank you in advance for the help BP community!

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

We are a licensed GC in the Twin Cities and have years of experience working with, providing estimates for, and completing the required code compliance repairs at registered vacant buildings in St.Paul (Ramsey Cty) and Minneapolis (Hennepin Cty) and are also a Hennepin Cty contractor. Your building inspector is most likely Jim Seeger or Reid Soley. I've spoken with and dealt with both of these gentlemen over the past 8 yrs on many properties. We are currently working with another BP member on a Cat 2 property he acquired in St.Paul. Just to let you know, these bids can be quite extensive and time-consuming as the reports are usually several pages long. We'd be more than happy to provide bids for you or assist you along the way. Feel free to contact me via BP or email.

Thank You
