Need guidance on my 1st real estate investment in Colorado
I live in Houston, but am buying a partially-developed residential property in Colorado from my mom. From what I've read it makes sense to create an LLC to purchase the property. My mom will be financing the installment purchase. Should I just go to LegalZoom or some other online source to set up the LLC? Do I need to get an attorney's or accountant's advice regarding how to structure the installment purchase? Other than my own home, this will be my first purchase, and I don't know whether I just need to have her sign over the deed or if there are other things I need to do in relation to the financing. For instance, does it matter whether I pay her any interest?
