LLC question

Hi

I am planning on purchasing properties in Pittsburgh PA and Burlington AL.

Do I need to open an LLC in both states? If I only open in one State can I purchase in another State? Will I incure higher taxes in that case?

Thanks

@Yael Fuerst, variations of this question are posted frequently. Search for the term and read through some of the threads. You will find divergent opinions. For some people an LLC can offer significant asset protection, for many they offer little protection because they are not maintained correctly, and for those who have nothing to protect they are an unnecessary expense and complication.
