Slow start for the year, but ..

Well, it's been a slow start to 2016, but it just fired off. So much so that I took the plunge and quit the dead end job 2 weeks ago.Same week closed on a 3000 sf beast of a project, closing another tomorrow and have a third under contract, closing in 2 weeks. Also working on a short sale which is still a few months out. I came close to reaching a monetary goal I set for myself but realized I couldn't fully reach it while trying to work my current position and invest part time. The job was really holding me back from achieving my goals. The way I set everything up is I've put enough money in each deal to pay a small salary to myself during the project. I pay myself as the contractor to perform some tasks as well as a management fee. I had a horrible experience on the last deal with the GC, not all are the same, and decided to just build my own crew using my construction experience. I was self employed in construction pre 2009, so not that big a deal. Super pumped about going full time into real estate. Ramping up the marketing for cashflowing properties and more rehabs..
