While I lack hands on experience with Real Estate Investment I was able to learn about a buy and hold scenario from my parents. They purchased a distressed property in Florida for under 100k, completed 20k in repairs and later received an offer for 230k. This lakefront 3 bed 2 bath home had an ROI of 52% after two years forced appreciation! I'm excited for them because when they are ready to sell they would make excellent profits.

Now ten years later as I read real estate investment strategies, play investment games like Cash Flow and attend seminars where I learn about best practices for properties; I'm beginning to learn these investments can be made with great success in short periods of time.
