Reasonable Price for Bathroom Reno?

I got a bid for 30k for a non-luxury remodel for a 5x8 bathroom that involved moving plumbing  (has a crawl space underneath). I then got an estimate from another contractor to convert a small laundry room into a bathroom for 50k. This is in San Francisco. Does anyone know if these estimates sound about average? If so, I can't see how renovating would be worth it. I am working on getting more bids but have been having an impossible time getting contractors on the phone.

30k for a bathroom remodel and 50k for a laundry conversion in my opinion is CRAZY. 

I have done probably 500 plus 5 by 8 bathroom non luxury and higher end remodels of bathrooms. And I have never paid more than say 7k tops that would include a full gut job of the entire bathroom and moving of plumbing. 

So yes I think your cost is very very high
