Voiding a lease

I am trying to purchase a multi family home. It has leases until 2015 I wanted to move in after I buy. Unfortunately I read you have to honor a existing lease so I can't. The house is a bankruptcy and the sellers name on the house is different from the person who signed the lease, the landlord. Is this enough to void a lease or no ?
