I used my VA loan to buy a house hack

Investment Info:

Small multi-family (2-4 units) buy & hold investment.

Purchase price: $260,000
Cash invested: $10,000

House hack up/down duplex. I live in the 1 bed 1 bath bottom unit and rent the top 3 bed 1 bath unit.
Top rent is $1350.
Total mortgage is $2189 at 7 percent interest.

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

My lease was coming up and I was looking for a way to reduce my monthly cost of living while also getting into the real estate market for long term gain.

How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

A real estate agent brought this off-market deal to me.

How did you finance this deal?

VA loan.
