Short Term Rentals in Poconos or New Paltz/ Kingston Area

Hi, we are a first time investor and we want to get into our first short term vacation rental.

We live in New Jersey (40 mins from New York City) and wanted the rental to be in 1-2 hour drive radius.

We wanted to ask the community and get some help on getting started, understanding which areas are better for airbnbs/ and other short term rental websites and process of acquiring the property?
