Location, Price, not a lot of work needed, temporary home for us.

Realtor.com and negotiated directly with listing agent without an agent of my own

How did you add value to the deal?
Painted interior, updated landscaping, added barn doors and other custom features on interior.
What was the outcome?
Sold the home in less than 8 months for $500k.

Dang man when I read your figures I thought to myself "I would have held that". looks like your property improved about 200k from the price you bought it from. However after the cost of sale, that's a good return on your $3500. Where you able to take your proceeds and put it toward something that did better than the appreciation this home has had since you sold it?
Yes, we purchased the Townhome in Georgia that we were going to rent but the market was so hot when we finished, we decide to sell it also. Looking back, it we would have held on to both and rented them out, we probably would have been much better off.
