OKC General Information

Posted

Hello BP,

My name is Kyle and I'm currently house hacking a duplex in Oregon. Since Oregon seems to be best suited for equity building and I prefer holding rentals, I'm hoping to start my journey in long-distance investing. After very minimal research (researching the country as a whole is daunting), I've selected a couple cities to do more research in, one of which is Oklahoma City and its metro area. This is the purpose of this post.

I'd love to hear from locals or other long-distance investors investing in Oklahoma City about their thoughts and concerns about the area. I understand this is a very broad subject, so if you prefer to point out useful resources, instead of commenting yourself, that would be helpful, too. Information can be about anything: jobs, crime, weather, etc.

Anyway, I'd love to hear from all of you and I appreciate any help. Thank you!

P.s. I'm looking for a duplex for around $100k, or a little less, that's already rented in a safe area. The most important part of my research is figuring out if this is something Oklahoma City can offer, or if it's not really possible. Hopefully, understanding what I'm looking for can help you give me relavent information.
