Rhode Island Networking
Hello everyone,
I'm reaching out after listening to the Bigger Pockets podcasts for a few weeks to try and network with fellow Rhode Islanders. Is there already a running thread on this topic, if so, let me know please?
I'm at the point where I'm developing my strategy. My first step will be trying to get into a house hacking scenario and build from there.
Thanks for your time.

@Adam Lawton welcome to Bigger Pockets! There are many other threads of people looking to network with other real estate investors in Rhode Island but absolutely no harm in adding another one 😊
Networking with other folks here on BP is a great idea of course. I've been investing in Rhode Island since 2003 and other folks will probably answer you here too, but I also usually recommend folks check out offline networking groups as well. I've been to the RI real estate investor group that meets monthly in Warwick for many years and have also attended Black Diamond REI in southern Mass sporadically over the years too, and can recommend both groups as they are education oriented and don't try to sell you anything.
House hacking is an excellent first step and is usually one of the first things I recommend to new investors who ask how to get started. I can’t emphasize enough that if you have 10K you will learn a hell of a lot more about real estate using that as a down payment on your own multi family property, instead of spending it on some seminar, “boot camp” or “coaching program”. You’ll learn a lot more, and you’ll even have an asset to show for it too 😊
Congratulations on getting started with real estate!
