I find alot of good networking through Meetup.  For example, I started going to a Multi-Family Investing/Syndication meet-up a few months ago and no one is selling...all content and networking.  And alot of folks from BP there.

There have also been some grassroots efforts here on BP where locals just put it out there and suggest a time and place.  Those are pretty popular.  Coffee on a Saturday morning or a beer after work.  

My schedule is a little nuts, but I'd be interested in getting together in the Katy area some evening.  Maybe something easy to get to off I-10 (e.g. BJ's Brewhouse).
