Illinois and Indiana rental investing questions

Greetings all, I'm going to be in Illinois and Indiana next month to help my parents move. While I'm out there I'd like to meet with some real estate investors and investor friendly agents. My parents new home is located in LaPorte County, Indiana and we are planning to invest in some rental properties in the region. I'd really like to meet with a handful of people across markets such as Indianapolis, Michigan City, La Porte, Chicago, and parts of Illinois outside of Cook County. My goal here is that I want to figure out what market makes the most sense for us, given our goals, so I'd love to have a discussion about the markets in the region a whole. We are primarily looking for cash flowing rental properties. I like the idea of SFR and MF properties more than I like the idea of Condos, although I'm open to any discussion as a whole. If anyone would be interested in having a discussion with me, let me know. I'm happy to chat online or in-person when I'm in the area next month.
