Anyone have any idea regarding the old town of slidell, LA?

I live in Mandeville, LA. Compared to invest in Mandeville, the commercial buildings and the residential properties in the old town of Slidell, LA is rather cheaper. The good thing is that the school there is not so bad. Anyone here have any idea of the market there?
