New Guy Looking to Network With Experienced Investors

Hello All! I'm finally ready to jump-start my wholesaling business. I just lost my construction job today so I can totally focus on what I need to do to succeed. I have been studying when and where I can for the last few months and even attending a few real estate investor social gatherings but I think what I really need to do is find a veteran wholesaler in my area that I can learn from to help me put it all together (essentially turn theoretical knowledge into applied knowledge). I don't want to be one of these new guys that just starts throwing out fliers and expects to make things happen over night. I fully expect to grind and expect to make mistakes but i'm not necessarily looking for a "guru" or "mentor," just someone who knows the ropes in my area and can help push me in the right direction off the starting block.
