Finding Distressed Properties

What marketing/lead generation strategies are people having the most success with to find distressed properties? I have done some research into different strategies and am conflicted with where to commit my efforts. 

Of course I will keep my eyes on the MLS with my realtor connections since this is essentially a zero cost lead generation strategy, but what else are you all doing to get good leads?
