Hiring to find my own deals

Hello there and Happy New Year to anyone that stumbles upon this post!

I’m planning to hire someone this year to help find deals as I normally purchase from wholesalers and/or agents.  I’m hoping to be able to pick up an additional 3-6 properties per year.

If you were going to hire someone to find properties, what process would you follow (I found a young man who was previously a real estate agent and is very hungry)?  My plan is to have him drive for dollars, door knock, and follow up on mailings that I plan to send out.

Thanks in advance,

Steve
