Do You... Pinterest?
Up until today, I pretty much thought Pinterest was for teenie boppers and wedding planners (or in other words... the Justin Bieber demographic).
However... today I saw that a long time friend and fellow flipper had posted some details of a recent flip to Facebook, and when looking closer, saw that he had initially posted it to Pinterest, and this Facebook activity was part of the blasts that he does across all the different social media sites.
This, coupled with the fact that the site was recently valued at $1.5 Billion (or 1.5 Instagrams) got me thinking... is it time to join the Bieber crowd? Do any of you BPers use it for anything I would care about?
Pinterest is another social media tool like Facebook, Twitter, Google +, and blogging to attract an audience. I haven't used Pinterest but it could lead to another market of followers (buyers, investors, etc).

I've toyed with it. I see zero value from the site for my purposes, but do see people flock to it. As I always say -- find the 3 or 4 sites that work best for you and your business and focus your efforts there.
That's FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, and BP for me . . .

Looks like you also stay pretty active on Google+, Josh. I can't seem to get the hang of it. Do you do all your updating and sharing on your own, or do you have help? Do you have a schedule for sharing, or just whenever the mood hits?
Seems like as with any other type of marketing, there needs to be a definite strategy.

Jerry Puckett - I do also use G+, but mostly for personal reasons. We do update the BiggerPockets account there, so I suppose I should have included it on the list.
I am the one who posts to all of our social media accounts. As for a schedule, I don't really have one -- I just check in throughout the day and make sure to share quality content, and to interact with my colleagues as I do here on BP on the forums and blogs. I do make sure that I'm posting at least once a day across these platforms so my/our colleagues/followers know that I'm present.
The key is visibility, engagement, and responsiveness. That's the strategy!
That said, starting next week, we're going to give our users the ability to interact in a similar way as they do on G+ and FB, right here on BP (see link for details).
i have been using Pinterest for about 2 months. It's strengths are aggregating visual content, either uploaded by you or "Pinned" from other websites which could be your own, but predominately are others. You create boards with themes, and then pin pictures to those thematic boards. The social bit is like twitter, where you can follow other peoples pins, and others can follow your pins.
We did at HomeZada as a way of curating ideas for common home improvement projects. So for kitchen remodels, or bathrooms, or anything, we have pinned different styles to give people inspiration for different design styles.
I image as a real estate investor, it could be a visual way to show before and after pictures and have a different board for each of your properties, and then use the social bits to drive awareness of what you have done.
