Website Creation - HELP

Angeline Mentor

Hi All,

I am in desperate need of a website. I had started to take a look at Carrot. However, I was disappointed when they did not even call me after I had set up some time with their sales team.  Not sure what happened. But makes me leary of their customer service.

So back to my question. Can anyone recommend a good company that will help build a website for my company I would like to have lead capture pages, Seller and Motivate buyer etc.. Also, if the company can help with Facebook marketing and SEO.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

@Angeline Mentor  I have no affiliation whatsoever with this company, but check out

http://leadpropeller.com/

They founders (I think) did a podcast with BP as well.  May be worth listening to.

I use WIX. So easy to do it's ridiculous. Cheap too. Many templates so start with one of those. Made my last site one evening over a glass of wine...Hosting included, can get personalized email etc...

They are huge so there are lots of third party add on's that are free or cheap for what they do...like booking appointments etc...

I have used WIX for several things...check out https://www.wix.com/website/templates?criteria=rea...

Grab one of those, change the text and off to the races. Maybe a few pic's of the type of houses you buy etc. You can create forms so you get the important details etc. Forms can have drop downs so they have to choose a valid response etc.

Good articles on their site too to improve your SEO, sachability, make it mobile friendly etc.

Here are a few things to consider when choosing a website builder:

  1. Starter Templates - Templates to help you get started in a matter of minutes
  2. Ease of Use - Easy Drag and Drop, WYSIWYG Builder so what you see on screen is what will be shown in the browser.
  3. Customization - Ability to completely customize the site to fit your brand so you don't look like every other real estate website on the internet.
  4. SEO - Optimized to be ranked highly on Google and be found by google
  5. Mobile Friendly - Website looks good on all devices including tablets & phones
  6. Forms / Lead Management - Forms to capture & follow up with leads
  7. Easy Hosting - Easy Domain & Site hosting for non-techy people
  8. Price - Wix & Weebly provide free options or cheap options as low as $5 per month

I have always used Wix or Weebly for my sites, because they are cheap, super simple to add content and customize, are Search Engine Optimized, & mobile friendly.

If you are looking for a real estate specific website builder then OnCarrot, Leadpropeller are probably the best options.

We use a Lead Propeller website and like it. If you look at most of the real estate websites in your market, chances are it's a Carrot site. We went with Lead Propeller, so it didn't look like everyone else's.

You would probably be fine, if you go with either one. You could be up and running in a couple hours, without having to reinvent the wheel. All of the work is done for you.

Full disclosure I work for Carrot.

There are some good points discussed in this thread but I would challenge a few of them. From my experience working with Wix can be quite a pain. Their SEO features aren't the best and their load time on mobile can be really slow. I have contracted (outside of REI) to work on Wix sites and always had a tough time getting anywhere with their SEO or support.

Also, if you go with Wix you need to build out content on all those pages, posts, etc. For some that may be a non-issue but writing good SEO content can take a little practice. Carrot gives you starter content out of the box that you can tweak to fit your brand.

I know that Carrot sites are all over the place. In my market, there are 3-4 (and I know some of the investors personally). But it doesn't stop my site from getting leads. I run PPC traffic to them so the lead clicks to the site and might not even see other options. Plus at the end of the day, I don't worry about it too much because I know Carrot tests designs and I am more comfortable running traffic to a site I know performs vs one that just looks different. I would rather use the same tools, technology, strategy as investors I have seen be successful then worry if my site looks like someone ranking at the bottom of page 1.

Just my $0.02. Any site you make can technically work if you have a good marketing plan and execute.

These are my 2 cents as a software engineer. Why do you want a website? Do you want to generate leads, sell a digital product,  do CRM, reporting etc? If you hire a developer or a group of developers to build a website it is going to be very expensive, and the project scope that you stated isn't clearly defined. Additionally you are going to have to hire developers again whenever you want to make changes or updates. If you just want a website or blog you can set one up with squarespace or wordpress. If you want something more sophisticated you can check at sales and marketing saas products

Having used a lot of platforms, Go Daddy has thus far been the most simple and reliable source.

I can link you to my websites and answer any questions.

Feel free to PM.

@Angeline Mentor WordPress nowadays have plenty of options, I also have some people on Fiverr, it is one time fee for building the website for them, but you do not need to pay monthly fee.

If you would like, message me and I will provide you their contact
