Is social media working for you?

Hi everyone! I would love to see some discussion about social media sites such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc in the multifamily housing industry.

Is your property using social media? Has it been effective?

I am actually doing an MBA on this topic. Also, if you can help me with my research and take this 2 min survey about social media, I would so so appreciate it: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/9MPQXMM

Thanks! :D

Bryan, do you know your residents are not Internet savvy or do you just assume based upon other evidence? I'm just curious because I've seen studies that even lower income residents are very Internet savvy. However, they do operate in different ways online. For example, if you have a low income property, try out MySpace, because even though it's technically on the decline, it is still quite popular with that demographic.

As for social media as a whole, I've seen great successes with it, but they definitely took the time to invest in it. Unfortunately, for every success, there is probably 20, 50, 100 examples of barren profiles that look horrible and did no good.
