REI Software ... What's the skinny on it?

I've seen a lot information regarding REI Software. I've seen all types and heard lots of claims. So I guess the question is

Is there a preferred software in use by BP members?

what are the pros and cons of the software you have used?

Any other info would be great as well regarding software. I am also aware that BP has software as well. I'll probably be going with them first.
