Real Estate Tech Advice for Capstone

Posted

Hi,

I am a student working on my capstone project to create an application that can give a user house buying/renting recommendations based on their current purchasing amount. I am currently working on creating this application for the Pittsburgh housing market. The user would enter the cash value they currently have to purchase a property, their monthly budget, and whether or not they'd be taking out a mortgage to purchase the property. The application would then give property recommendations to the user with information about the operating expenses, potential rental plan if the user wanted to make a profit from the property, NOI, and cap rate. I would love any feedback/recommendations for the application. For those of you who have purchased a property or are currently looking for properties, would you be interested in using an application like this? If you have used an application like this one, what were some pain points you experienced?

Thank you!
