Cloud Sharing Systems

I am purchasing a tablet for when I'm out of the office or on a job site; and a tablet for the person(s) who manage the properties when I am not available. Any recommendations for cloud sharing software?

Conceptually I would like to be able to create shared files that would automatically update on all assigned machines. I like the way iCloud works but don't want a contracted manager to have access to, say, my reading list.

Dropbox seems to be an option but I know little about it.

Any advice or input would be much appreciated.
