How do I get rid of someone trespassing on my rental property

Hello everyone,

I'm a new landlord and I have a rental unit that the tenant's ex-boyfriend got out of prison and came back trying to stay with her on the property.  His name is not on the lease and her mother (on the lease) doesn't want him there and so does she.  My question is, how do I get rid of him as a landlord?  The tenants have tried calling the cops already but they wouldn't do anything because the cops said they are not the owner.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks a bunch.
