SUNY Oneonta / Hartwick Student Rental Inquiry

Hi BP,

My partner and I have previously invested in student rentals in Bethlehem PA around Lehigh University but we are currently searching for other college towns with a bit more inventory. We stumbled on Oneonta, NY (SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick) and were wondering if there's anyone who's currently investing or went to school there?

It seems as though a lot of residential houses are split up into numerous apartments and zoned as multifamily. This is something that we are not familiar with from our experiences at Lehigh, and we would love a local perspective.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Connor

@Connor Donovan I went to school at SUNY for 4 years so I am very familiar with the area. It is my intention to go back and invest in the area as i think it presents a great opportunity.

I have been looking for my first investment there for the past few months but didn't find anything that the numbers worked on.

Your observation is correct; there are a large number of SFR that were divided and rezoned multiple.

Any questions you have on the area, Just reach out!
