Unpermitted living space

Anyone had any experiences with unpermitted conversion in St Petersburg? Have this house which i believe has an unpermitted bedroom which comes up as "Finished Enclosed Porch". How much of a hassle will it be to get it permitted? Do they grandfather them in if it was done way back? Also i know it'll come up on inspection, but is there a place to look this up myself/online? I'm also suspicious of the 2nd bath appraiser at http://www.pcpao.org only shows sqft doesn't have bathroom count
