Getting Started? Here to Help (Wholesale, Apartment Houses Comm)
Been in the D.C. Region my entire life. Dad was military and came to D.C. (Walter Reed) in '68. Lived in Wheaton, Silver Spring and then Columbia, MD before heading off to college at Towson (State) University. While working an internship in Baltimore met a man named Jim Rouse who encouraged me to get into the real estate business, so I went to PENN (Wharton) and got an MBA in real estate development/finance. Came back to the D.C. area to work on a land development project called Lansdowne in NOVA. Then worked downtown D.C. and Alexandria (Old Town) for a developer named Oliver T. Carr, Jr, who mentored me on doing small-scale office deals. Went out on my own about 20 years ago, starting with flipping houses (back before all the TV shows) and then got my real estate license and CCIM. Today I mainly focus on small apartments (10-30 units) in Baltimore and land deals in Prince George's.
Here to help folks getting started, or making transition from houses to commercial. I don't have all the answers, but I do have a great Rolodex, and 34 years of hands-on experience in the D.C. Region (Including Baltimore and NOVA). If I can be of help, please feel free to ask away. Just ask that everyone who does post follows the BP rules, and forgives me (in advance) if I can't answer specific questions about stuff going on outside where I do deals, which is DC, PG, NOVA and Baltimore...
