Newbie in MD - question about getting MHIC
Hello BP!
I am a newbie REI and have been putting off my introduction for too long - no better time then now so here is goes!
My name is Anthony and I have over 20 years experience in architectural design and construction management. I have always had a passion for residential home design and construction and currently work full time as a construction manager for a builder in the DC metro area. I am building up my capitol and working on a business plan with the intention to Fix and Flip and BRRRR single family homes in and around Montgomery County, MD. I recently decided to go for my MHIC certification so I can jump into my first flip in the Gaithersburg or Rockville area before the end of the year; planning to take the test sometime in July.
I wanted to see if anyone had any input on the MHIC certification process or the test itself? Right now I am planning to get the Home Improvement Contract Course and Book Package ($165 total) from the Builders License Training Institute (https://www.licensetobuild.com/store/maryland/). This seemed like I deal as I have seen multiple day courses available at Tysons Corner or Silver Spring which start at $750 for the course itself.
Thank you in advance! Now that the band aid is ripped off, I look forward to talking with many of you and working together toward financial freedom!
