Meeting at Tax Auction turned coaching pitch

So I went to my first real estate meeting at the Harris county tax auction here in Houston. Turns out it was a pitch for a year long coaching program for only $9,995! What a deal!

Luckily, because I've been listening to so many BP podcasts, I picked up on all the signs before the host even mentioned the program. At one point she said even if we had money, she wouldn't do a deal with us because she would have to walk us through everything. Later she came back and said she doesnt make her money from her classes, she makes it by partnering with her students.

This is only my first meeting, but I'm guessing this is a common practice? I'm also attending one mid day Monday that I'm thinking might go the same route.
