Building a burien DADU

RJ Albers
Posted

Was hoping to reach out to someone who has built a DADU in the burien area. I'm currently house hacking a SFH that has potential to construct a DADU. I've been quoted 330k for a 1k square ft build from mykabin. I've heard of people turning their DADU into a condo in the Seattle area but wasn't sure if it was possible in burien. I'm trying to figure out if it's more profitable to just get another SFH househack or to build the DADU. Any info from people who have been through the process of constructing one in the area would be much appreciated.

@RJ Albers, getting another SFR makes more sense since you are still at the beginning of your real estate journey. Later on, when you have a lot of equity that you can pull out of your properties, or can do big HELOCs, you can think about the DADU
