WSJ article on deed fraud aka as stealing your house with the aid of online property records.

Given our government's horrific record on protecting online records (every government worker or former government with a security clearance had their fingerprints their personal history and a large part of their financial history stolen by the Chinese government, one of the worst screw-ups in American history) this can become a major issue especially for landlords who very rarely or never visit their properties.  As more and more counties adopt online property record keeping this crime will become more prevalent.
