VA Historic Homes Tax Credit
Good evening,
Has anyone used the VA historic home tax credit for remodeling their home/rental property? I live in a house hack and want to renovate my home using little to no money down. The home was built in 1908 and is in a historic district in Norfolk. My plan is to refinance to a FNMA Homestyle loan, which requires up to a 25% down payment. To stay no or low money down, I want to get a soft/hard money lender and use that for the down payment. Then, I'll use the VA historic home tax credit to pay off as much of the soft/hard money loan as possible. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
