Change in Tax Basis for Off-market transaction? (Tarrant County)

Danny Chang
Posted

I am currently negotiating an off-market FSBO transaction for an SFR property in SW Fort Worth. I was told by the seller that one benefit of going FSBO/off-market is that my tax basis wouldn't jump vs. an on-market MLS deal. I always assumed that with title changes, this would flag some change with the tax appraisal office. Can anyone share their knowledge/experience around this? Thank you so much!
