Hail Damage in Kellar, Texas

I have a property in Kellar and the property management company informed me that a hail storm had damaged the roof.  I have 2 quotes - 1 to repair the roof and 1 for a brand new roof.  Has anyone had a similar situation recently?  I am wondering if I should get the insurance company involved and what they would cover?
