Hi,

I'm new to these forums but I look for informations that are specific for the german market, as some resources and legal requirements will differ.

I couldn't find a post using the search, but are there any users here that have knowledge for european real estate investing? Is there a useful thread that I missed or a special sub-forum?

Thanks for your advice!

Hi Shane,

Sindelfingen is definitely a good location. Why don't you just buy the penthouse you managed?

I have not rented to americans yet but I know somebody who has a furnished apartment in the same building in Echterdingen who is renting to somebody from the US Army.

I bought my first property about 5 years ago in a foreclosure but today you can't really get a good deal at those anymore.

I have no experience with direct mailings, the ones I received were from real estate agents.

I am not sure whether it will work very well but I think it's worth a try because the properties you find on Immobilienscout etc. are usually not very cheap.

I guess direct mailing could be a good way to reach elder people who will not use the internet to advertise their properties. For those local newspapers are still worth a look.
