Buying SFH that come with acres of land

Madhu G.

I see some single family homes with lot sizes that are in acres (1 to 2.5). The idea of buying a home with acres of land is appealing to the farm-boy side of me. And also cos it feels like a valuable asset esp in parts of Austin that don't have too much land.

But I'm sure there is a lot more to think through when buying such properties. e.g. maintenance costs, would tenants be less interested in renting such properties etc. What are these other considerations to keep in mind?

Curious for yall's take on this topic!
